How can I enable 2-factor authentication?

You can increase the security of your account by enabling 2-factor authentication (also called 2FA, or 2-step authentication). We recommend doing this, as it will help to secure your account in case your password is stolen. When 2-factor authentication is enabled, during login you will also need to enter a 6-digit verification code from your authenticator app.

To enable 2-factor authentication, log into your account. Click your avatar at the top right and select "Settings."

Select "Two-Factor Authentication" and click "Set up an app"

You will need to use an authenticator application (such as Google Authenticator, Authy, or Duo). Follow the authenticator application's instructions to configure the account. You may use the QR code or the code generated on the Wellfound page to set up your account within the authenticator application.

When this is done, your authenticator application will generate a 6-digit verification code. Enter this on the Wellfound page to complete the setup of 2-factor authentication.

Once this is done, your setup is complete. Please note that you will need the authenticator app for future logins, so you should not delete it from your phone. Be sure to download the recovery codes so that you can access your account in the event that you no longer have access to the device you need for the 2-factor authentication or cannot use the authentication app for other reasons.

During future logins, you will be asked to enter a 6-digit verification code from your authenticator app. You will need to open your authenticator app that you used for setup in order to find this code. If you are having trouble with this, please see our article "What if I can't find my authenticator code for 2-factor authentication?"
