What can I do if I see a dip in applicants for my job post?

When we first post a job, you may see a more significant flood of applicants. This could be because candidates in our system set up save searches, and they receive an alert when your job first goes live. The second reason is that candidates search by 'most recent' in the job search area and see the most recently posted jobs.

You have three remedies to help increase applicants after an initial job post:

  1. Unpublish and republish the job. This allows it to show higher in the job search list for candidates, increasing visibility and encouraging applications.
In the upper right corner of the job post, click 'Unpublish'.
Reload page, and click 'Publish' in the upper right corner of the job post.
  1. Promote your job! Job promotions are essentially advertising for your job post. It will show your job post in more visible areas within job searches and prioritize surfacing the job post for applicants who fit the role in our system. By increasing the reach of your post, you'll have more candidates directly apply to the role.

Please follow this guide: How do I Promote a Job?

After publishing a job, you can click on 'Promote Job' to set up a promotion. Please make sure to follow the guide, because setting this up properly increases efficacy.
  1. Ensure your job post has a salary or equity added. If compensation is missing, the post will have limited distribution, preventing it from being seen in our job search.
